The plum of the ume variety is collected unripe and stored in salt and shiso leaves for a while. It is the shiso leaves that give the food its characteristic red color. Ideal for use in cooking with vegetables and cereals.
Produced in Japan following the traditional method.
Ingredients: Japanese plums* (pruna Ume) (79%), sea salt, Shiso leaves* (Perilla frutescens).
Allergens: It may contain cups of buttocks and soy.

Uses: Crush to puree to use as a condiment in the preparation of sauces. To make a drink, place a boneless Umeboshi surgeon and a tablespoon of Shoyu in a cup and add a cup of hot Kukicha.
