Zero Waste, path to the circular economy

The zero waste movement seeks sustainability by creating responsible habits in daily use and consumption to eliminate waste.
Forget about wrapping fruit, meat or fish,… in plastic and on polystyrene trays that will end up in the garbage, it is an all-too-widespread habit that generates huge mountains of waste that are very difficult or impossible to recycle and that dirty our beloved planet.

We can summarize the Zero Waste model in five points

  • Reject what is not needed.
  • Reduce what is needed.
  • Reuse all kinds of materials, wraps and packaging (with the recommendation of consuming second-hand products).
  • Recycle everything that cannot be rejected or reduced.
  • ‘Rot’, the English word that defines the action of decomposing or composing organic matter to obtain natural fertilizer.

10 Essential Zero Waste Tips

  • Reduce. Ask yourself if you need it
  • Reuse. Use what you have at home, intecambia or second-hand purchase
  • Reuse. If it will be a one-off use, borrow it or rent it
  • Replace. Replace things progressively when they are finished
  • Repair. If it has broken down, repair it
  • Reject: he loses the fear of saying “no”, he is very powerful!
  • Reaffirm. Don’t blame yourself for making it imperfect. everything adds up!
  • Recreate. If you can, make it yourself mism@ and learn new skills
  • Resist immediately satisfying your material needs
  • Spread and share learnings and small gestures to inspire others
Our goal is to achieve a circular economy, defined by the European Commission as: “The production and consumption model that involves sharing, renting, reusing, repairing, renewing and recycling existing materials and products as many times as possible to create added value and extend the life cycle of products”.
