Linverd de Figues Artesana de Montserrat is a fruit preparation made in an artisanal way with seasonal figs from Montserrat. It is a product especially linked to the territory and to a slow way of making, based on small productions and a simple recipe where the fig is the real protagonist.
Figs represent 76.8% of the composition and are combined with Golden Light cane sugar, citric acid and ascorbic acid. The recipe is prepared with a high proportion of fruit: to make each quantity of the final product, a higher quantity of figs is used before the cooking process, as indicated on the label.
The history of this product begins very close to Linverd. The figs come from our neighbor Montserrat and are worked in an artisanal way using seasonal fruit. A preparation that seeks to maintain the flavor of the ripe fig and recover that old way of making: little by little, in small quantities and without unnecessarily complicating the recipe.
The result is a preparation with a soft texture and intense fig flavor, with the sweetness of the fruit complemented by cane sugar. It is very versatile in the kitchen and can be enjoyed on toast, combined with yogurt, added to breakfast or used to accompany different sweet preparations. It can also combine particularly well with cheeses, creating a contrast between the sweetness of the fig and the more intense or savory flavors.
Its artisanal preparation and the link with Montserrat are part of the identity of this Linverd reference. A way of bringing a seasonal fruit directly from the orchard to the table, highlighting the origin, proximity and small productions.
To preserve it correctly, it must be kept in a cool and dry place. Once opened, it should be stored in the refrigerator and preferably consumed within three weeks.
