Description.

The Ous XL (6 units) l’Empordà Eco are organic eggs from hens raised in freedom on the Mas Rimbau de Dalt farm, a 55-hectare area declared organic.

The farm works under the criteria and controls of the CCPAE, prioritizing animal welfare, traceability and truly environmentally friendly production.

The hens graze in a natural environment in the Salines-Bassegoda area and are fed with crushed grain (mainly corn) from organic farming and a custom-formulated feed to maintain the color and taste of the past.

The safety of the flock is controlled with dogs and the company of donkeys Catalans, avoiding the use of electric shepherds and maintaining a more open and natural environment.

A differentiating point is that the eggs do not come into contact with the hen thanks to modern facilities (they go from the nest to a conveyor belt), helping to avoid strong odors when cooking them.

In addition, they have a technical team (veterinarians, nutritionists and agricultural technicians) and a HACCP system with regular cleaning, disinfection and waste management controls, prioritizing natural methods.

The project is completed with an organic garden fertilized with their own compost, irrigated with rainwater, crop rotation and the presence of bees for pollination, reinforcing a circular production model.
