Nuts and Peanuts Smileat is a 100% dried fruit and peanut preparation, ground into powder to facilitate consumption and help avoid the risk of choking associated with whole nuts and peanuts.
It is a mixture of different nuts and peanuts, designed to be easily integrated into the complementary feeding routine when the baby has already started to try foods on a regular basis.
According to the product information, it can be offered to the baby if he does not have allergies to other foods and/or atopic dermatitis, if there is no family history of allergies to nuts and/or peanuts, and if he has already frequently tried a variety of foods, including eggs and fish, without allergic reactions.
If in doubt, it is advisable to consult an allergist, and it is recommended to take the first doses during the day to be able to observe possible reactions.
How to take it: at the first feeding, give a teaspoon (3 grams) with porridge, puree or yoghurt, and observe the baby for the next two hours in case any allergy symptoms appear.
If no symptoms appear, wait 2-3 days to repeat the same dose of 3 grams.
At the second feeding, if there have been no reactions, repeat the same amount again with 3 grams to be sure.
From here, it is recommended to include 1 tablespoon of 6 grams in meals once a day during the first year.
Storage: the shelf life is 12 months, but once opened it should preferably be consumed within 2 months and kept refrigerated.
