Umeboshi produced in Japan following the traditional method. The plum of the ume variety is picked unripened and stored in salt and shiso leaves for a long time. It is the shiso leaves that give the food its characteristic red color. Ideal for cooking with vegetables and cereals.
Ingredients: Japanese plums* (Ume plum) (79%), sea salt, Shiso leaves* (Perilla frutescens).
Allergens: May contain traces of gluten and soy.

Use: Grind until pureed to use as a condiment in the preparation of sauces. To make a drink, put a pitted Umeboshi plum and a spoonful of Shoyu in a cup and add a cup of hot Kukicha.
